Proud of ACHS boys basketball team in state's Elite 8 By Trey Stephens ACHS Sports Writer for Columbia Magazine The Adair County Indians fell to Lyon County 80-65 in the quarterfinals of the UK HealthCare KHSAA Boy's Sweet 16 state tournament Friday. The team had an incredible run, the best for Adair County since 2007. Despite the loss, the team and head coach Breeze were in good sprits being thankful for the fan support plus being excited to run it back next year with the return of nearly the entire team. This team is something all of Adair County can be proud of, our team finished as one of the 8 best teams in the state of Kentucky. Lyon County went on to defeat Great Crossings in the Semifinal and became state champions by defeating Harlan County. This story was posted on 2024-03-25 00:26:01
