ACSO: Adair man arrested on methamphetamine charges

On March 18, 2024, at 5:39pmCT, the Adair County Sheriff's Department responded to a complaint of suspicious activity and unusual traffic, 9 miles south of Columbia on Yellow Hammer Road.

Chief Deputy Brandon Hitch responded to area and located a red Chevrolet truck in the area of the call. After making contact with the vehicle operator, an outstanding warrant for his arrest from KY Probation and Parole was found.

The driver was removed from the vehicle. During this process, he attempted to conceal or hide a quanity of suspected methamphetamine.


Glen Richards, Jr., 41, of Columbia, was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail by Chief Deputy Brandon Hitch on charges of:
  • Probation violation warrant of arrest
  • Possession of a controlled substance 1st degree methamphetamine.
The Adair County Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation.
