ACSO: Joint investigation leads to drug trafficking charges

On Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at around 5pmCT, K-9 Deputy Chandler Staten and Detective Sgt. Evan Burton with the Columbia Police Department initiated contact with a man in the Sparksville community of Adair County.

The contact stemmed from an investigation of possible drug trafficking in the area. As a result of the investigation a search of the residence was conducted.

Several items were seized in the search, including methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and cash.


Frankie Reliford of Adair County was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail by K-9 Deputy Chandler Staten on charges of:
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree methamphetamine
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Adair County Sheriff's Office and Columbia Police are continuing the investigation.
