ACSO: Harrison back in custody on additional charges

On Saturday, November 11, 2023, Joseph Harrison was located by the Adair County Sheriff's Office on Guthrie Street inside the limits of Columbia. The Sheriff's Office had been conducting surveillance on the home when they saw Harrison come out into the front yard before returning inside the house.

Sheriff's Deputies and KSP Troopers surrounded the residence and were able to get Harrison to come out and surrender himself to authorities.

New charges for Harrison, 36, of Columbia, include:


  • Theft By Unlawful Taking over $1,000 but under $10,000 automobile
  • Receiving stolen property over $1,000 but less than $10,000
Additional charges of burglary are pending DNA evidence results.

Harrison was lodged in the Adair Regional Jail by Chief Deputy Brandon Hitch and Deputy Josh Durbin. The Adair County Sheriff's Office was assisted by multiple units of KSP.
