Swiftwater Rescue of vehicle in moving water

Miller Park, Friday, March 31, 2023: Campbellsville Fire-Rescue was dispatched to a report of a vehicle in moving water. Upon arrival, firefighters found a four-door passenger car in a fast moving stream with one victim inside.

Rescuers deployed a shallow water crossing technique to the vehicle, applied a life jacket to the victim, deployed downstream backups and removed the victim from the car and then transferred the patient to CTCEMS.



No firefighters were injured and one victim was transported for precautionary measures for hypothermia.

Assisting Agencies: Campbellsville Taylor County 911 Center, Campbellsville Taylor County EMS, Campbellsville Police Department.
