ACHS Academic Team Award Winners at Region Championships

Click headline for article with photos.

The Adair County Future Problem Solvers, members of the ACHS Academic Team, are among the state's list of elite teams once again as the team captured 2nd Place overall at the Governor's Cup Regional Championships on Saturday, February 18, 2023. This marks another year in which the team has climbed the ladder to advance to the Kentucky State Championships, extending their 4th Region record number of State Finalist appearances to 16. Team members competing at Region in FPS were Abigail Kemp, Abby Claywell, Trina Nguyen, and Cameron Yarberry.

In addition, the Quick Recall team had an applause-worthy showing at the Region Championships. The team notched a win over Barren County in Round One. The ever-unpredictable Quick Recall draw, however, then pitted them against recent Final Four State Quick Recall finalists South Warren. Adair led the eventual Regional Champions at the half, but they were edged out in a tough-fought match in the 2nd half. Quick Recall participants were Bailey Watts, Trey Stephens, Joseph Kotter, and Abigail Kemp.

The State Finals are held in Louisville on March 17-20, 2023. Adair County entered this year's Regional Championships as 18-time District Champions since 2005.
