Phillip Coffey - Platitudes

Platitudes - By Phillip Coffey

Fashioned his hair into a Mohawk, complete with a 'rattail'
Fully expressing himself with all of his pleas - carried it all
In a bottle strapped just below his left knee - for a handy crutch.

Had the solution to all of others' problems with all the well-rehearsed
Cliches from an earlier age - only shared then in a smoke-filled room.
Got up each and every day, never taking on the realities so common,
Among all of humanity.

Just write me a letter, be sure to place a postage stamp on it,
As the Government requires.
Give you a quick response to you when I have the time.
Please pull the lever with my name written to the side.

Give the grievances to the committee of one - will soon sweep it aside!
With a broom covered with a towel to assure that nothing is damaged
In the Palatial justice Halls.
