Expect wind, chance of storms ahead of cold front

A low pressure system will track through the midwest and into the Great Lakes today and tonight with a cold front moving through southern Indiana and central Kentucky late tonight.

At 3:52amET on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, the National Weather Service in Louisville issued the following hazardous weather outlook portions of south central Indiana and Central Kentucky that includes Adair and surrounding counties:
Thunderstorms will be possible late this afternoon and evening ahead of an approaching cold front. Some storms may be strong to severe with damaging winds as the primary severe weather hazard. In addition an isolated tornado threat cannot be ruled out.

Outside of thunderstorms today and tonight, gusty south winds will be seen. Sustained winds of 15-20 mph with gusts of 35-40 mph are likely.
Behind the front, winds will shift to the west and remain gusty into the day on Wednesday.

Travellers should use caution today and into Wednesday, especially in high profile vehicles. It will also be a good idea to secure outdoor objects including holiday decorations.
