Kinetic to offer fiber internet in Campbellsville

Campbellsville, KY - Some 6,100 homes and businesses in Campbellsville and surrounding parts of Taylor County will, for the first time, be equipped for high-speed fiber internet, network provider Kinetic and government officials announced recently.

Kinetic officials say the company plans to lay nearly 80 miles of underground optical fiber cable to bring high-speed internet to the county. The project is expected to be completed by March 2023.

Wednesday's announcement followed a county Fiscal Court presentation by Kinetic officials before County Judge-Executive Barry T. Smith and the court's six magistrates Tuesday night, October 11, 2022.

"Fiber in our community will help not only in our economic development efforts but will also help us to attract jobs from the new economy," Smith said. "Our citizens will now be able to work and do their schoolwork at home, which has been somewhat challenging during the pandemic. I would like to thank Kinetic for being a community partner."

State Sen. Max Wise, R-Campbellsville, said: "The Kentucky Legislature recognizes the importance of fiber and high-speed broadband and worked with industry leaders to pass legislation that encourages fiber deployment. Taylor County is fortunate to have community partners like Kinetic, and I appreciate its investment in the community."

The Taylor County fiber project is part of a $2 billion multiyear capital investment strategy to dramatically expand gigabit internet service across Kinetic's 18-state footprint.

As a result of Kinetic's network expansion, the company either has or will have fiber in every county it serves in Kentucky over the next couple of years.

Customers may visit GoKinetic.com or call a Kinetic Connection Center retail store at 270-765-1892 to find out if they are eligible for a gig-speed upgrade.

The superfast, reliable fiber connections in Taylor County empower residential customers to gig speeds to navigate the internet safely from home with no lag times while they work, participate in virtual classrooms or stream entertainment services. Businesses from small to enterprise can take advantage of the fiber-backed network to deploy solutions that make their companies more efficient and profitable such as OfficeSuite UC(R) and SD-WAN.
