ACSO: Injury collision on KY 61 South

On Monday, October 10, 2022 at 7:18amCT, the Adair County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle injury collision at the intersection of Hughes Road and KY 61 South.

Upon arrival, Deputy McCarol found that a 2017 Nissan Sentra being operated by Seth Staley of Cumberland county ran a stop sign at the end of Hughes Road.

Staley's vehicle struck a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, operated by Kenny Smith, heading north on 61, in the side as it passed Hughes Road.


The impact caused Smith's vehicle to overturn multiple times before coming to rest.

Smith was transported to TJ hospital by Adair EMS then later transferred to University of Louisville for treatment sustained in the collision. Staley was not injured.

Staley was issued traffic violation citations on scene.
