Chamber of Commerce: October Meeting, Treats on the Town

From Ellen Zornes, Executive Director
Columbia-Adair Co. Chamber of Commerce

The Columbia-Adair Co. Chamber of Commerce will be having our regular October monthly meeting at NoonCT on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Cranmer Dining Center, Lindsey Wilson College, 430 Helen Flatt Drive, Columbia, KY. Doug Beard will be our speaker, and he will tell us all about the transformation of the Columbian Theater to be utilized by the Adair County Schools. Can't wait to hear all about it!

Also, we are so glad to be able to have 'Treats on the Town' again! Covid knocked us out of it for the past two years but it's back and will be held from 5pmCT to 7pmCT on Halloween evening, Monday, October 31, 2022, all around our historic downtown Public Square. The Square will be blocked off from any traffic and we generally have around 1,000 kids that come Trick or Treating to this safe environment.

The hours are set by Columbia Police Chief Junior Murphy, and as always, law enforcement will have a positive influence around the Square.

We are also very glad to announce that Debbie Selby is back as our 'Treats on the Town' coordinator! We do need all our businesses, churches and organizations to register and be given your spot to hand out candy and/or other items to the kids and parents. The best way to register is to email us at coladair@duo-county.com and please include a phone number where you can be contacted and we'll let you know your 'Treat' spot.

Thank you and we'll see you Tuesday for our October meeting!
