Horace William Hill, 97, Columbia, KY (1925-2022) Horace William Hill of Columbia died on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at his residence in Buford, GA. He was 97 years old. Funeral services will be held at 2pmCT on Friday, September 23, 2022 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Robert Adkins and Bro. Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10amCT on Friday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. He was born in Edmonton, KY on September 14, 1925 to the late James Wiley and Etta Edna Carter Hill. Mr. Hill was a member of the First Church of God in Lafayette, IN and attended the Lake Wells Church of God in Florida before moving to Buford, GA. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army and a retired Machinist for TRW. He enjoyed fishing, camping, antique and sports cars and spending time with his family and friends. To know Mr. Hill was to love him. Survivors include his wife Mary Margaret Smith of Buford, GA; two children Juanita Hill Curry (James Glen) and Danny Joe Hill both of Buford, GA; a grandson Bret Wiley Hill of Monticello, IN; a brother Harold Hill and several other friends and relatives. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four siblings J.T., Hugh, Lindso and Ava Lawson. Pallbearers will be Danny Hill, Bret Hill, Kenny Smith, Glen Curry, Mark Smith and Bro.
