Anna Humphrey graduates from Gatton Academy From Torrie Osbon Edmonton, KY - Metcalfe County High School is proud to announce Anna Humphrey is one of 77 students from across Kentucky to graduate from the Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science. Metcalfe County High School Principal Clint Graham said, "We are proud of Anna and her academic success. Graduating from a prestigious school like the Gatton Academy is an amazing accomplishment. We are excited to see what the future holds for Anna. She will always have the support of her Hornet family." Anna was accepted into the Mahurin Honors College at Western Kentucky University this fall and was awarded an academic scholarship for her achievements. The Gatton Academy is Kentucky's first residential two-year program for gifted and talented juniors and seniors. Students enroll as full-time WKU students pursuing their interests in advanced science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. "These students have taken the most rigorous curriculum offered to any high school students in the nation," Dr. Lynette Breedlove, Director of The Gatton Academy, said. "They left the comfort of their homes and established a level of independence that will impact their lives forever; and they have forged new friendships, which will grow exponentially in the years to come. These experiences have formed a foundation from which these exceptional young people can build lives of purpose, meaning, and service." This story was posted on 2022-06-25 10:37:05
