Adair Co. Fair will start June 23 Comments re: Reader asks if Adair County will have a fair this year By Jennifer Carter Adair County Fair Association A reader asked if we would have an Adair County Fair this year. We will be having pageants, 4H and Floral Hall exhibits as we have for the past few years. They can check out our facebook page under Adair County Fair for a schedule of events. We are working on our new fairgrounds, but we do not have a track or any buildings yet to hold events. We are building from the ground up and it takes time and money. We have time, but not the funds to get everything done quickly. We have done a lot of clean up work on the property to get it cleared of trees and debris. The public doesn't understand that although we were Blessed with property from a donation, getting the property to where it is now buildable has been a lot of work and time. We only have a few people that has helped with the work so that makes progress slow. We look forward to the day when we can have a fair similar to what we had in the past, but it takes a lot of resources such as money, equipment, manpower and patience to get there. We appreciate all of the help we have had to date and we are progressing, but we are not to where we can have a full fair yet. Thank you --Jennifer Carter This story was posted on 2022-06-12 07:56:23
