Phillip Coffey - Truetone Television

TRUETONE TELEVISION by Phillip Coffey
Through all those many fists' fights and staged barroom brawls
She and her mistress would keep on setting up the warm brew
Though there were cattle stampedes in the streets, and all that shooting.
If the dusty throats be dry, keep up the whiskey rounds for everybody.

Mesmerized by it all, tearing down sexist barriers with her raspy voice.
Just for security there was 'Matt' and 'Sam' behind her with a loaded shotgun.
Here I was eleven years old at my Keltner town home - real thirsty for a Ski
But 'Ms. Kitty' could not hand me a soft drink from our 'Black and White' Truetone T.V.
