Maddie Harbison named Conference Cheerleader of the year By Torrie Osbon, Director of Communications Metcalfe County Schools Metcalfe County Athletics is pleased to announce middle school cheerleader Maddie Harbison has been selected CKMSAC (Central Kentucky Middle School Athletic Conference) Cheerleader of the Year. Each of the eight-member schools nominates a cheerleader to be considered for the end-of-the-year award. The conference commissioner and coaches vote for who they feel is the most qualified candidate. Maddie was recognized for her achievement during the conference tournament finals on January 31, 2022. "We are proud of Maddie and her many accomplishments as a student-athlete," Metcalfe County Assistant Athletic Director Rachel Dial said. "She gives 110-percent in everything she does. It's an honor to be recognized by her peers for her efforts." Maddie is an 8th-grade student at Metcalfe County Middle School and a four-year member of the MCMS cheerleading team. She is also a member of the MCMS Beta Club, FCA Club, Sources of Strength, yearbook staff, honor roll, and MCHS tennis team. Maddie serves as a representative for the Superintendent Student Advisory Council and Site-Base Decision Making Council. She is also active in the community and her church. CKMSAC Commissioner Godfrey Jackson said, "Maddie is an excellent role model, not only for her teammates but for all of the student-athletes in our conference. She leads by example inside the classroom and out. She is committed to her studies while still volunteering time to help her church and the community."
