JOY Ministries Christmas Campaign Raises $47,325!

By Hannah Peck

J.O.Y Ministries is extending a heartfelt "Thank You" to everyone who supported their Annual Christmas Campaign. "This year was like no other," says J.O.Y. Ministries Treasurer Maggie Coleman. "We are honored, humbled, and touched by the love and generosity shown by this community." This year's fundraising goal of $35,000 was not only met, but surpassed, bringing in $47,325!

In the summer of 2021 JOY purchased Ruth's Place, a women & children's shelter slated to open in 2022. The anticipated expenses of operating a multi-unit shelter, continued operation of Cally's House, and meeting the ever-growing needs of the Adair County community were cause for their ambitious goal.

In 2021 J.O.Y. provided nearly 2,000 food bags, served 25 people in need of furniture, connected 60 homeless individuals with community resources, provided shelter to 40 people, served 115 Holiday meal boxes, gifted 55 Christmas backpacks to children in need, hosted Camp HOPE for 25 students and hosted Mission Week with 60 participants.

"We prayed for God to help us meet the needs of this community, and that prayer has been answered in a big way. Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this possible. We are so grateful," shared J.O.Y. Vice President Hannah Peck.
