Soccer: LWC Men open MSC tournament play against Georgetown By Kyle Jackson The No. 11-ranked and top-seeded Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team will open post-season play on Friday, November 5, 2021, with a quarterfinal match against No. 8-seed Georgetown (KY) in the Mid-South Conference tournament. Kickoff is set for 6pmCT at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY. The Blue Raiders (11-2-1, 10-1 MSC) enter tomorrow's game after defeating Campbellsville University 5-1 at home in the final match of the regular season. A brace from Nathaniel Opoku led the Blue Raiders to the victory. Opoku continues to lead the Blue Raiders in goals scored with 14 in 14 games this season. Meanwhile, Alexander Koziolek leads the team in assists with nine after 14 games, a career-high. As a team, Lindsey Wilson have outshot their opponents 272-115 this year outscoring them 41-18. As for the Tigers (11-5-1, 5-5-1 MSC), they enter tomorrow's match after defeating No. 9-seed Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) 2-0 in an opening-round match of the Mid-South Conference tournament. Two first-half goals from the Tigers helped seal the victory. Junior midfielder Sebastian Bocaz Canales continues to lead the Tigers in goals scored with 10 in 15 games and assists with 14 in 15 games played. As a team, the Tigers have outscored their opponents 50-23 this season. This will be the 40th all-time meeting between these two programs with the Blue Raiders winning the previous meeting earlier this season 4-1 on October 9th. Opoku led the team with two goals and an assist in that match. Lindsey Wilson leads the all-time series 27-1-2 and are undefeated against the Tigers in the last eight meetings.
