James Douglas 'Doug' Sidebottom, 84, Green County, KY

James Douglas "Doug" Sidebottom of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Raymond Oscar Sidebottom and Annie Hay Sidebottom, was born on Friday, September 3, 1937 in Green County and departed this life on Monday, September 13, 2021 at his home. He was 84 years and 10 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church. He was also a right-of-way appraiser for the State of Kentucky, was a lifelong farmer, a veteran having served in the United States Army, and a member of the Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54 F&AM.



Survived by his wife of 59 years, Eleanor Clark Sidebottom of Greensburg, having united in marriage on December 15, 1961.

Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Rhonda and Mike Jones of the Little Barren Community; three grandchildren: Seth Jones of Little Barren, Micah and Thaxton Spears of Bowling Green, Rachel and Jordan Futrell of Cadiz; a great-granddaughter: Carsyn Rae Spears; a sister and brother-in-law: Gretchen and Ed Rogers of Green County; brothers-in-law: Carlos Clark of Bardstown, and Bob McCrary of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son: Keith Sidebottom on May 16, 2014.

The funeral services will be conducted at 2pmCT Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the Greensburg United Methodist Church Pavilion with burial to follow in the Greensburg Cemetery with Graveside Masonic Rite Service conducted by the Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54 F&AM.

Bro. Dale Curry and Bro. Gary Baker will be officiating.

Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, Greensburg in charge of the service arrangements.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund or the Greensburg Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.

PALLBEARERS: Seth Jones, Micah Spears, Thaxton Spears, Rachel Futrell, Jordan Futrell, Ed Rogers.
