Patsy Ann Matney, 62, Green Co., KY (1959-2021)

Patsy Ann Matney of the Exie Community of Green County passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow. She was 62 years old.

The funeral services for Patsy Ann Matney will be conducted at 1pmCT on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with Bro. Victor Matney officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is requested from 4pmCT until 8pmCT on Tuesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, and will continue after 7amCT on Wednesday until time of the funeral service.


Patsy Ann Matney, daughter of Mary Posey Meadows of Metcalfe County and the late Garland "Tood" Meadows, was born on Friday, February 27, 1959 in Taylor County, Kentucky.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Maple Hill United Methodist Church. She was employed with Fruit of the Loom, Inc. and also Amazon.

Besides her mother, Patsy is survived by her husband of 46 years, Danny H. Matney of Greensburg having united in marriage on October 19, 1974.

Other survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: Daniel and Amanda Matney of Summersville, and Joseph Matney of Green County; a daughter and son-in-law: Angela and Chris Lewis of Campbellsville; nine grandchildren: Justin Morgan, Mackenzie Morgan, Peyton Morgan, Gracie Matney, Joey Matney, Dennis Matney, Hudson Matney, Liam Matney and Zach Reeves; two step-grandchildren: Kris Lewis and Alexis Lewis; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Matney was also preceded in death by a grandson: Daniel Cody Matney; and three brothers: Gary Wayne Meadows, Jerry Meadows, and Bruce Meadows.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.

Pallbearers: Justin Morgan, Mackenzie Morgan, Gracie Matney, Peyton Morgan, Terry Edwards, Brent Matney, Jeremy Meadow, Jason Elmore.
