Marla Gale Gilbert, 70, Campbellsville, KY (1951-2021) Marla Gale Gilbert of Campbellsville passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 in Lexington. She was 70 years old. The funeral service will be held at 1pmET on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Ave., Campbellsville, KY, officiated by Rev. Jamie Bennett. Burial will follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is requested from 5pmET until 8pmET on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home. Marla Gale Gilbert of Campbellsville, daughter of Lorene Callahan Whitley and the late Joseph Whitley, was born May 4, 1951 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Green River Memorial Baptist Church. Marla was a retired employee of Taylor County School Systems. She united in marriage to Mel Gilbert February 20, 1981 and he preceded her in death January 25, 2018. She is survived by one son and one daughter: Brad Akridge and wife, Regina of Campbellsville and Lisa Blandford and husband, Tommy of Lebanon; one step-son, Greg Gilbert and wife, Lisa of Brentwood, Tennessee: eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren: her mother, Lorene Whitley of Campbellsville; one brother, Roger Whitley and wife, Kathy of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Expressions of sympathy requested to be donations to Gideon Bibles and may be made at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home. Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
