Conservation Officers utilize safety checkpoints in an effort to promote safety for motorists and outdoor enthusiasts using WMA's and to provide a deterrent for those who violate Kentucky Revised Statutes and Kentucky Administrative Regulations.

Traffic safety checkpoints allow Conservation Officers to periodically focus its efforts on checking for violations that ultimately increase the safety of the citizens of the Commonwealth who recreate on Kentucky's Wildlife Management Areas. The goal of Conservation Officer traffic safety checkpoints are to provide a high visibility, public safety service targeting motor vehicle compliance and safety. Drivers who encounter a traffic safety checkpoint are requested to have readily available their operator's license, proof of vehicle insurance, and vehicle registration receipt. Kentucky Conservation Officers are committed to providing a safe environment for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources managed lands.
