Edith Newton Wise Hunt, 97, Campbellsville, KY (1924-2021)

Edith Newton Wise Hunt of Campbellsville passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. She was 97 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 2pmET on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Ave., Campbellsville, KY, officiated by Bro. Jason Keltner. Burial will follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is requested from 11amET until 2pmET on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.


Edith Newton Wise Hunt, daughter of the late Ernest S. Newton and Hallie Derr Newton, was born March 26, 1924 in Taylor County, Kentucky.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Palestine Baptist Church.

Edith was a hard worker and former employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville. She later retired from Taylor Regional Hospital.

Edith united in marriage to Maurice Wise and he preceded her in death. To this union, five sons were born. She later united in marriage to Charles E. Hunt June 2, 2001 and he preceded her in death August 11, 2005.

She was soft spoken and kind person who loved working in flowers and quilting. Edith was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.

She is survived by three sons: R. W. Wise and Lynette of Campbellsville, Everett Wise and Debbie of Shepherdsville and Michael Wise and Chuck Merritt of Norfolk, Virginia; five grandchildren: Chuck Wise of Elizabethtown, Brandon Wise and Jenna of Connecticut, Brian Wise and Angie and Terry Wise of Louisville and Christi Kidwell and Chris of Campbellsville; five great-grandchildren: Cass Kidwell, Cole Kidwell, Clark Kidwell, Logan Wise and Chip Wise; special niece, Brenda and Richard Page of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two sons: Charles Wise and Jerry Wise and one brother, Malcolm Newton.

Expressions of sympathy requested to be donations to Gideon Bible or Hosparus of Green River and may be made at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.
