CPD: Dickson taken back into custody

By Officer Adam Cravens, PIO
Columbia Police Department

Multiple units from the Columbia Police Department and the Adair County Sheriff's Office arrived at an apartment complex on Miller Avenue acting on a tip regarding recently escaped inmate Christopher Dickson hiding in a residence.

Upon arrival, officers attempted to call Dickson out with no response. K9 Unit Matt was prepared to enter residence and was announced at which time Dickson verbally identified himself and was taken back into custody peacefully without incident.

Dickson is currently facing charges related to his escape from the Class D facility on Sunday night, May 16, 2021, as well as new drug charges from his recapture.
