Spring Plow Day at Homeplace on Green River, Sat 24 Apr 2021 By Lyn Stanton, Program Director Homeplace on Green River It's springtime in south-central Kentucky! Is this season prettier in any other location? We certainly think not, and we are ready to celebrate the season. We hope you will join us at Homeplace on Green River for Spring Plow Day on Saturday, April 24, 2021. Our large, outdoor, social-distancing conducive campus we will have a ton of things for folks to see and do. The event will begin at 8amCT/9amET and run until 4pmCT/5pmET. Homeplace on Green River is located at 5807 New Columbia Rd. Campbellville, KY. We will be requiring guests to practice covid safety protocols of social distancing, and mask-wearing when close to others. Admission is only $10 per vehicle. The main event, of course, is the plowing. It will happen primarily in the morning between 8amCT/9amET and 11amCT/NoonET, and feature over a dozen mule and horse plow teams who will turn and till the soil adjacent to the Homeplace campus and prepare it to furnish another year of wonderful, heirloom breed crops. The plowing event received generous sponsorship from Lindsey Wilson College. Additionally, we will have live music in the Bank Barn, sponsored by North Century Pharmacy, an antique tractor show sponsored by Campbellsville University, hayrides, a kiddie barrel train, and hay maze, tons of craft vendors and local food vendors, demonstrations, pony rides spnosored by 3trees Church, and petting farm, historical re-enactors and a log skidding contest! Take a step back in time and join us for this annual community festival! We are so excited to see everyone and want to thank our generous sponsors for helping make this event possible. Questions about our festival can be made to the Program Director via email director@homeplacefarmky.org, or by calling the office 270.789.0006. We hope to see you there!
