Miss August: Kentucky Living 2021 Calendar In which Robert describes his elation at finding his favorite photo featured in the 2021 Kentucky Living calendar. We say a well-deserved congratulations to Robert, and thanks again for sharing this beautiful image with Columbia Magazine readers first. --Pen By Robert Ellis A large white envelope arrived in the mail at my home on Black Friday. Other than the monthly magazine Kentucky Living sends out to all its RECC customers I never get any enveloped mail from them. Walking to the house and suddenly remembering I entered their photo contest back in March, I was puzzled as to why I would be getting this envelope. None of the photos I submitted for the competition were selected, so this was becoming somewhat of a mystery. So... I peeked through the back of the envelope and could see it was a calendar and decided this must be a "gratuitous" gift, as a way of thanks for entering the contest. However, thumbing through the months in the calendar I suddenly had one of those WHOA Nellie moments...there she was, Number 784 staring back at me! Wow...what an honor! Of all my photos ever taken, this is my favorite, now she'll be gracing many more homes in Kentucky.
