I hear the cries of sacrifice, here and overseas
I hear the cries of families that lost loved ones, to fill a country's need
I feel the love and warmth, of this freedom filled land
I feel the steel of a soldier always ready to make a stand

I feel humbled, as the sun rises on this veteran's day
And I feel the tears well up, as a thankful heart prays
