Contest Winner: Stella McQueary!

Mystery Photo Contest Number Two identified: Stella McQueary names all but one cheerleader (October 24, 2004): STELLA McQUEARY, Campbellsville, KY, is the winner in the second Olden Times Photo contest.

She has correctly, the judges believe, identified all but one of the cheerleaders in the photo: Photo left to right: Rhoda Sue Knifley, Sharon Ballou, Nancy Ingram, Juanita Staples, and Beulah Keith.

The judges do not believe that Mrs. McQueary's identification of the girl standing is correct. We still need some help on the true identity of the standing cheerleader.

Mrs. McQueary said, and we think she's right, that the school was Columbia Grade School, the team's nickname was Redhounds, that the photo was taken in the school gym, and that the school year was 1953-54.

Mrs. McQueary will receive a copy of "Drifting and Dreaming" for her fine work. Another copy will be go to the first person who correctly identifies, in the opinion of the judges, the name of standing cheerleader.
