Two vehicle accident sends one to UofL from Taylor County

The Taylor County Sheriffs Office investigated a two vehicle collision that occurred on New Columbia Road on September 21, 2020 at 1942 hrs.

Based on evidence at the scene, unit one, driven by Annette Leake, 61, of Columbia was traveling south on Highway 55, with a passenger, Javier Galvan Arias, 61, also in the car.

Unit two, driven by George Croote, 55, of Monticello was traveling north.

Unit one attempted to pass a vehicle and lost control, striking the trailer of a semi truck. The operator of unit one was flown from the scene to University of Louisville hospital for treatment of injuries.



The passenger was transported to Taylor regional hospital by Campbellsville Taylor County EMS with non-life threatens injuries.

The operator of unit two was uninjured.

Taylor County fire department also respond it and assisted on scene.
