Columbia Pharmacy to host Grand Opening on Tuesday Columbia Pharmacy, located at 803 Burkesville Street, Columbia, KY, across from the Post Office, will host their Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting at NoonCT on Tuesday, July 14, 2020. The new business marks a return for three pharmacists who should be well-known to many Columbia residents. Owners Britt Jackson, Matt Jackson, and David Bowman have been working together in the area since Britt and Matt started working with David at the old Columbia Pharmacy in 2001. Matt Jackson says, "David mentored us through high school, college, and pharmacy school. Britt and I graduated from Samford University in 2011." When the older Columbia Pharmacy was purchased by CVS in 2012, the Jacksons worked for CVS in Columbia and Campbellsville, before moving to an independent pharmacy in Glasgow, which was also eventually acquired by CVS. Since then, Matt has worked with the pharmacy at Columbia WalMart, and Britt has worked with Bowman at his other two stores, Lincoln Parkway Pharmacy in Hodgenville and Green River Pharmacy in Liberty. "We always held a deep desire to serve the needs of our patients in unique ways that the corporate world just wouldn't allow. In 2019, we developed a plan to reopen Columbia Pharmacy," Matt says. "We opened our doors for business on February 11, 2020, but were soon instructed to close our lobby and front end, and our plans for the Grand Opening had to be delayed. We have maintained our business during that time with our drive-thru window, delivery, and curbside service." At Tuesday's big event, prizes and gifts will be given away, food will be provided, and the owners are inviting everyone to stop by. Matt says, "Our staff is super friendly, our prices are super low, and we really pride ourselves on exceptional service." CDC guidelines of social distancing will be followed, and they ask everyone to please wear a mask. More information about prizes will be posted daily to the Columbia Pharmacy FaceBook page.
