LWC Women's Golf posts top Team GPA for 2019-20 By Chris Wells Twenty-two Lindsey Wilson College athletic teams produced at least a 3.0 team grade point average during the 2019-20 academic year. The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team produced the highest GPA in the department, boasting a 3.87 team GPA. The team GPA is calculated by dividing the quality points earned by the hours attempted during the academic year by all student-athletes listed on the team's eligibility certificate. "I'm incredibly proud of all of our student-athletes and how they continue to excel in the classroom," Lindsey Wilson athletics director Willis Pooler said. "This was not an easy year for anyone dealing with the impact of COVID-19. To see our student-athletes show the self-discipline to finish the year under abnormal circumstances makes their academic accomplishments in the classroom that much more impressive. I congratulate them on their academic performances and can't wait to have them back on campus in the fall." Nineteen of the teams are eligible for the NAIA Scholar Team award announced early next fall. The athletic department finished the academic year with a 3.10 GPA -- the best since the 2017-18 academic year when the department produced a 3.13 GPA. This story was posted on 2020-05-30 07:10:01
