Letter: more details needed when virus announced

James Roberts writes:

I think that the public needs to be informed not only when we have a new case of COVID-19 but what that individual was involved in as to whether they worked in healthcare, food service, nursing home patient, etc.

There is no need to mention any names.

You can mention male or female and approximate age and whether they had any underlying health issues and most importantly where they've been and the places they've been in contact with for the past 2 weeks.

In the past if someone in our community had a case of hepatitis, especially in the food service business, the public was informed about that.

I think that this COVID-19 virus is far more serious and deadly for anyone to take lightly.

Just my opinion as I think others will agree. - James
