Thinking of this month fifty years ago

By Linda Waggener

"What were you doing half a century ago?" That was history writer JIM's question in his recent weekend article. Fifty years ago was a time of great change in the world, but not much of the news penetrated the rosy bubble through which I viewed it.

This March, 2020, remembering 50 years ago, Ed and I were three months into a marriage we had no idea would last 48 years, through September of 2018.

Sons Pen and Tom were only glimmers in our eyes, although, if we'd been asked to describe the children we wanted to bring into this life, they'd have been exactly who we'd have ordered.

So, if you were also alive back then, "What were YOU doing this month half a century ago?"
