Bill Calhoun, 78, World War II veteran Bill Calhoun, 78, 281 Otha Bryant Road, Columbia, KY, passed away Monday, December 15, 2003, at 8:26 p.m., at Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia. Public visitation will be after 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 17, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. He had served in World War II as an infantryman. Mr. Calhoun was a member of the Columbia Christian Church and had retired from Fireston Tire & Rubber Company. He was the son of the late John W. and Sylvia New Calhoun of Pulaski County, KY. He is survived by his wife, Audrey Akin Calhoun, Columbia, KY, and by the following:
Burial will follow in Haven Hill Cemetery with military honors by local VFW Post 6097. The family requests that expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to to the Columbia Christian Church Building. Donations may be made at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
