CU to move classes online for remainder of spring semester By Ariel C. Emberton Campbellsville, KY - On Monday, March 16, the administration at Campbellsville University announced that classes, which were originally going to be moved online until March 27, would be moving online for the remainder of the spring semester. All face-to-face instruction ceased at end of the business day Friday, March 13. "Our primary concern is for the health and welfare of students and our greater university community," Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University, said. Faculty will communicate with their respective students as to how courses will be delivered. Students are responsible for completing coursework via the determined avenues of instruction. Residence hall students have the option to remain in the residence halls or return home. For security reasons, residence hall students who choose to return home should remove their belongings. For those who choose to stay, residence hall directors will have room cleaning and disinfectant supplies available for students. Students who do not have access to technology off campus may use campus or center facilities, where computer technology will be available in a number of locations. Sanitizer will be available to wipe down computers between users. All university events including sports competitions and practices have been postponed until further notice. The university food service will continue for students and employees, only. Special wellness stations will be set up at the Campbellsville, Harrodsburg and Somerset locations where student residencies are located. All university-sponsored international travel is suspended until further notice. University-sponsored domestic travel is being evaluated on a case-by-case basis. The university has suspended all university events (including athletics) until further notice. The university cleaning staff, augmented by others, is working diligently for a safe environment. Disinfecting all high touch areas and equipment is a priority. University offices, including academic support, will remain in operation. Use of technology for communication is recommended.
