LWC Basketball returns to Biggers to host Georgetown By Grace Blomstedt The Lindsey Wilson men and women's basketball programs continue Mid-South Conference play against Georgetown (KY) on Thursday, February 20, 2020, at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY. Tip-off for the No. 12-ranked women (22-5, 10-3 MSC) is slated for 6pmCT and will be followed by the men (17-10, 6-7 MSC) at 8pmCT. The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team returns to action after falling to Campbellsville (Ky.) 92-74 on the road Saturday. The poor first quarter proved detrimental for the Blue Raiders. Reagan Turner tallied a team-high 22 points, going 4-for-6 from beyond the arc. J'Nayah Hall recorded her third double-double of the year with 15 points and 11 rebounds. So far this season, Lindsey Wilson ranks eighth in the NAIA DI in offensive rebounds per game (15.9) and 10th in total blocks (105) and total scoring offense (2056). Turner leads the Blue Raiders averaging 18.4 points and 3.3 assists. DeAsia Outlaw leads the team in total blocks (53), rebounds (205) and steals (62). Georgetown (13-12, 4-8 MSC) travels to Columbia after losing to Cumberlands (Ky.) 73-64 last Thursday. Hailey Ison was the lone Tiger to score in double-digits with 15. Madison Darnell managed to snag 10 rebounds while scoring 9 points to finish just shy of a double-double. Kennedy Flynn leads scoring for Georgetown with 10.4 points per game while Darnell averages 9.5 points and a team-high 6.3 boards a game. This season's earlier meeting resulted in a 100-63 Blue Raider victory. Lindsey Wilson managed to outrebound Georgetown 44 to 20. Five LWC players scored at least 12 points, led by Outlaw with 25 points. Jynea Harris marked a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Maddie Burcham and Flynn scored 12 and 11points, respectively, for Georgetown. This marks the 59th meeting between the two programs. The Tigers hold a 31-28 all-time record against the Blue Raiders. The Lindsey Wilson men are back in action after falling to Campbellsville on Saturday 72-56. The Blue Raiders struggled offensively in the game, shooting a season-low 33.3 percent from the field. Reece Brooks scored 21 points while Kameron Mack joined him in double figures with 12. Mack and Malik Hart each tallied six rebounds to lead LWC. Lindsey Wilson ranks fourth nationally in total three-point field goals made (297) and fifth in free throw percentage (75.2). Five Blue Raiders average double-digit points, led by Brooks's conference-high 20 points per game. Brooks also leads Lindsey Wilson is assists (5.1) and steals per game (1.7). No. 1-ranked Georgetown (24-1, 11-1 MSC) enters the matchup after besting Carver (Ga.) 108-54 on Saturday. Jake Ohmer led the way offensively for GC with 25 points, while Eljay Cowherd recorded 14 assists. Chris Coffey notched a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. The Tigers rank in the top-10 of the NAIA DI in 13 categories, including ranking first in scoring margin (27.2). Six Tigers average more than 11 points per game, with four of them averaging at least 15. Coffey averages a double-double with 12.8 rebounds. Earlier this season, Georgetown defeated the Blue Raiders 97-81 in the Davis-Reid Alumni Gym. Six Blue Raiders scored in double figures, but four Tigers scored at least 21 points. Matthew Eldridge almost recorded a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds while Coffey managed to tally 22 points and 13 rebounds.
