TCHS Academic Team is District Governor’s Cup Champions By Maddie Gumm, Marketing Director Taylor County School District On Saturday, January 25, 2020, the Taylor County High School Academic Team competed in and was awarded 2020 District Governor’s Cup Overall Champions. In addition, the Quick Recall team, consisting of Andrew Melton (senior), Joseph Cox (senior), Morgan Melton (junior), Lily Robertson (sophomore), Colby Reynolds (junior), Emma Maynard (junior), John Willis (senior), and Josh Gaddis (sophomore), placed first. Morgan Melton placed 1st in Composition and the following students placed in Written Assessment: Joseph Cox - 1st Language Arts, 1st Arts & Humanities Andrew Melton - 1st Math, 2nd Social Studies Emma Maynard - 2nd Language Arts, 2nd Arts & Humanities Lily Robertson - 3rd Math Ya’Kerryeun Davis (junior) - 4th Science Colby Reynolds - 4th Arts & Humanities, 5th Language Arts All students will advance to the Regional Governor’s Cup on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at LaRue County High School.
