Women's Basketball breaks the century mark with 100-63 win

Georgetown, KY - The No. 12-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team went on the road to the Davis-Reed Alumni Gym on Saturday afternoon to defeat Georgetown 100-63. The 100 points are the most the Blue Raiders have scored this season.

Lindsey Wilson (17-4, 6-2 MSC) controlled the matchup from start to finish as the game featured no ties or lead changes. Two Blue Raiders had career days with DeAsia Outlaw and Rose Mary Jackson producing career-highs with 25 and 12 points, respectively.



Joining Outlaw and Jackson in double figures were three other Blue Raiders. J'Nayah Hall had 19 points as Reagan Turner chipped in with 18. Jynea Harris recorded her third double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

The Blue Raiders led nearly every statistical category after shooting 57.1 percent from the floor to Georgetown's (12-9, 3-5 MSC) 40.7 mark. LWC crashed the glass all game to a plus 24 advantage, snagging 44 rebounds. The Tigers committed 13 turnovers that led to 22 Blue Raider points.

Lindsey Wilson had their way with Georgetown from the opening tip. The Blue Raiders jumped out to a 22-12 lead after the first quarter. Hall paced all scorers with 10 points. The LWC defensive effort in the quarter led to just two made field goals by the Tigers, getting eight of their points via the charity stripe.

The Blue Raiders kept their foot on the gas in the second quarter increasing their lead to as many as 24 points multiple times over the final two minutes of the half. LWC outscored the Tigers 23-9 over the ten minutes to increase their lead to 45-21 at the break.

Lindsey Wilson controlled every aspect of the game in the opening half shooting 47.1 percent from the field while limiting the Tigers to a 23.8 mark. Georgetown struggled offensively making just 6-of-26 attempts and turned the ball over seven times. LWC dominated the glass, snagging 27 rebounds to the Tigers 13.

The Blue Raiders continued to assert their will on the Tigers in the second half. LWC shot 66.7 percent from the floor after outscoring Georgetown 31-24 in the third and 24-18 in the fourth. LWC produced their largest lead of the night of 42 points at the 4:07 mark of the fourth quarter with a 94-52 lead.

Maddie Burcham came off the bench for the Tigers to score a team-high 12 points.

Lindsey Wilson returns home on Thursday, Jan. 30, when they take on Cumberland (Tenn.) at 6pmCT at Biggers Sports Center.
