LWC Basketball hits the road tonight to face Thomas More

The men's basketball team (RV) and women's basketball team (No. 12) continue conference play this evening on the road facing Thomas More (KY) beginning at 5pmCT with the women's matchup followed by the men's matchup at 7pmCT.

The Blue Raiders women's basketball team (16-3, 5-1 MSC) handled (RV) Cumberlands (KY) by a final score of 79-68 on Jan. 18 in their last outing. LWC saw 78 of their 79 points come from their starting five of Maleigha Oldham, Jynea Harris, J'Nayah Hall, Reagan Turner, and Rose Mary Jackson, with Oldham notching a career high 28 points to lead the way.



Turner leads Lindsey Wilson on offense averaging 18.8 points per game while leading the Mid-South Conference in points per game. DeAsia Outlaw carries heavy weight on both ends of the floor for the Blue Raiders, holding team leads in rebounds per game (7.4), steals per game (2.4), and blocks per game (2.2). As a team, LWC is shooting 43% from the floor and is averaging 76.3 points per game.

The Thomas More women's basketball team (14-5, 3-3 MSC) defeated Life (Ga.) in a 102-96 double overtime battle on Jan. 18 in their last appearance.

This season, the Saints rank fourth in the NAIA DI shooting 37.8% from behind the arc led by Courtney Hurst who ranks third individually in total three-pointers made (59) and seventh in three-pointers made per game (3.1). Emily Schultz leads the Thomas More scoring attack averaging 14.3 points per game, while also holding team highs in rebounds per game (7.5), and blocks per game (1.2). Zoie Barth has garnered team leads in assists per game (4.8) and steals per game (2.0) to help TMU on both ends of the floor.

The receiving votes Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team (13-7, 2-4 MSC) fell short at home to No. 16-ranked Cumberlands (Ky.) by a final score of 70-65. Matthew Eldridge, Reece Brooks, and Kameron Mack all scored in double figures as Malik Hart approached a double-double notching eight points and nine rebounds.

This season, Brooks serves as the anchor for the Blue Raiders as he holds team leads in points per game (19.6), assists per game (5.2), and steals per game (1.6). Brooks currently ranks fourth in the NAIA DI in total three-pointers made (61) while also ranking fifth in total assists (104) and total scoring (393) on 45.3% shooting from the floor. As a team, Lindsey Wilson ranks fourth in the NAIA DI in three-pointers made (212) on 37.5% shooting. Brooks has made a team high 61 three-pointers this season, while Payton Cundiff and Kel Stotts trail behind with 45 and 44 made respectively.

The Thomas More men's basketball team (14-4, 2-4 MSC) took down Life (Ga.) on Jan. 18 by a final score of 56-47.

The Saints play this season has been highlighted by their defense as they are allowing just 63.5 points per game to their opponents, which sits third best in the NAIA DI. Reid Jolly serves as a top player for TMU, as he leads his squad in points per game (16.2), rebounds per game (6.3), and blocks per game (0.7). Ryan Battle has hit a hot streak scoring the basketball for Thomas More, as the sophomore has averaged 20.6 points per game over his last three outings.

Live video and live stats will be available for both games. The women's game is set to begin at 5pmCT followed by the men's game at 7pmCT at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Ky.
