Edmonton author Moonsong publishes fourth book By Gaye Shaw Edmonton-Metcalfe Chamber Of Commerce Possum Gulch, a quintessentially south novel by Metcalfe County author, Jennifer Moonsong, will be released this month and book signings will begin. This will be Moonsong's fourth published book, and second novel. The plot is set in 1963 and life in sleepy, small town USA, seemingly ordinary, but times are changing and it is no different for Possum Gulch. The town and the people who call it home will soon come unhinged when an anonymous letter sets into motion a series of sometimes witty, sometimes sinister events, that change the town forever. It's a mix of mystery, old-fashioned romance, drama and comedy. "I started this book over a decade ago, and picked it back up whenever I felt light-hearted," Moonsong said, "because although it is considered a mystery, it is a cozy mystery and it has that warm-fuzzy feel that you can only get when writing about a bygone era. "For example, Possum Gulch is set it 1963, and the entire plot is hinged on the structure of life and the mentality at that time. It begins with a misplaced letter. And keep in mind, this was long before cell phones, caller ID and the like. The same plot written in modern times would conclude on page two." This story was posted on 2020-01-05 02:13:52
