Fire truck injury rollover investigated by Adair Sheriff's Office

By Sheriff Josh Brockman
Adair County Sheriff's Office

On 12-14-19 at 2:20pmCT Deputy Chandler Staten was dispatched to White Oak Church Road in reference to a structure fire. Columbia Adair County Fire Department was already on scene trying to extinguish the fire.

While in route to the fire, Deputy Staten pulled up on an overturned Fire truck being a 1999 Freightliner that was shuttling water to the pumper trucks on scene.

Preliminary investigation shows driver Jeff Hadley of Columbia dropped off the shoulder of the roadway. Hadley attempted to recover the truck but due to weight of the truck and water shift, was unable to recover it. The truck struck an earth embankment and overturned.

Hadley was treated by Adair EMS then transferred to University of Kentucky Hospital.
