Adair County Fiscal Court first November meeting - REPORT

The Adair County Fiscal Court met in Regular Session Tuesday, November 12, 2019. Action items included: Magistrates awarded the Boom Mower Tractor Bids to Hobdy Dye and Read of Columbia. This equipment enables road workers to mow the roadside and trim overhanging tree limbs.

Sandra Watts and Jane Reed were reappointed to the Adair County Extension Board, continuing their terms.

David Godby presented details and costs for the Magistrates and Judge to each have an iPad to be used for court matters. Judge Gale Cowan said the discussion and study will continue with a goal to to paperless at some point.



Magistrates granted permission for Judge Cowan to proceed with participation in the National Opioid Litigation. Adair County joins over 50 other Kentucky counties participating.

A request from jailer Joey quite was approved to hire a person from the Canteen Program.

There were no public comments, attendance may have been light due to the extreme weather.

The next meeting will be the last Tuesday of November, the 26th, at 4pmCT.

Fiscal Court meets each "Second Tuesday" at 6pmCT and each "Last Tuesday" of the Month at 4pmCT in the basement of the Courthouse Annex, 421 Public Square, Columbia, KY. The meetings are open to the public.
