LWC Women's Basketball to face Faulkner & Brewton-Parker

The No. 15-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team hits the road to face Faulkner (AL) on Friday at 7pmCT and Brewton-Parker (GA) on Saturday at 3pmCT in the MSC/SSAC Challenge in Montgomery, Alabama.

The Blue Raider women's basketball team defeated Berea (KY) by a final score of 72-53 on Tuesday, November 5th at Biggers Sports Center to push their overall record to 4-0. Junior guard Reagan Turner led Lindsey Wilson in scoring with 21 points while also grabbing seven rebounds. Senior forward DeAsia Outlaw chipped in 13 points, eight rebounds, four blocks, and three steals in the victory.



The Blue Raiders are led in scoring this season by Turner who is averaging 16.7 points per game and has recorded double-digit scoring performances in all four games this season. Senior guard Jynea Harris is averaging a team-high 7.5 rebounds per game, with her season high of 11 coming against Madonna (Mich.) on November 2nd. Junior guard Haleigh Howard holds the team lead in assists per game (3.7) and steals per game (3.0) in her four career games as a Blue Raider. Outlaw has tallied a total of 17 blocks this season, which ranks first in the NAIA. Outlaw averages 4.2 blocks per game, which ranks her fourth in the NAIA this season.

The Faulkner women's basketball team comes into the Friday afternoon matchup with the Blue Raiders holding a 4-0 record, which includes a 72-70 victory over Florida Memorial in their last game on November 2nd.

This season, sophomore forward Angela Grant leads the Eagles in scoring averaging 13.7 points per game. Grant recorded a season-high 17 points in a 65-49 victory over Pensacola Christian (Fla.) on October 29th. Grant also carries the team lead in assists, averaging 11.7 per game. Senior guard Kayla Harbin sits as one of the top defenders for Faulkner, as her eight steals and three blocks each are tied for team-highs this season. The Eagles are currently averaging 78.5 points per game while holding their opponents to an average 50.3 points per game.

The Brewton-Parker women's basketball team faces Georgetown (Ky.) on Friday night before meeting up with Lindsey Wilson on Saturday at 3 p.m. CT. The Barons sit at 2-1 on the season, defeating Toccoa Falls (Ga.) 74-41 in their last outing on November 5th.

The anchor for the Barons this season has been senior forward Joy Hadley, who is averaging a double-double (15.5 points per game and 10 rebounds per game) while also tallying all 13 of her teams blocks on defense for a 6.5 per game average. The 13 total blocks this season for Hadley ranks her second in the NAIA, placing her close behind Lindsey Wilson's Outlaw. Freshman guard Sy-Marieona Williams has dished a team-high seven assists this season, while sophomore guard Mayya Hopkins has stolen a team-high four balls for the Barons. Brewton-Parker is shooting 40.3% from the field, with a 34.1% average from behind the three-point line.

Live stats will be available for both games. The Blue Raiders are set to take on Faulkner on Friday at 7 p.m. CT, followed by Brewton-Parker at 3pmCT on Saturday in Montgomery, Ala.
