LWC Basketball Hosts Florida National tonight

The Lindsey Wilson men's and No. 15-ranked women's basketball team hosts Florida National tonight at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY, with the women's matchup beginning at 5pmCT and the men's at 7pmCT.


The Blue Raider women's basketball team will open their season tonight in their matchup with the Conquistadors. Last season, Lindsey Wilson finished 23-11 (9-5 MSC) and made it to the second round of the NAIA National Tournament.

The Blue Raiders return nine athletes from last year's team, including 2018 NAIA All-American Second Team selection Reagan Turner who led the team in points per game (20.3), assists per game (3.4) and steals per game (2.2) during the 2018 season. Lindsey Wilson also returns J'Nayah Hall, who recorded a team-high four double-doubles while averaging 12.2 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game. As a team, the Blue Raiders averaged 70.1 points per game last season while allowing an average of 61.1 points to their opponents.

The Florida National women's basketball team was defeated in their last matchup against Pikeville (Ky.) 103-70 on the road October 26th.

The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team (1-0) defeated Ohio State-Mansfield 116-35 at Biggers Sports Center in their season opener on October 26th. The Blue Raiders had six players score in double-digits, led by Kel Stotts who scored 25 points while chipping in five steals and three assists. Matthew Eldridge notched a double-double in the game, scoring 11 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Jordan Hamlette garnered a large stat line for Lindsey Wilson, scoring 13 points while adding eight assists, five steals, and six rebounds against the Mavericks.

The Florida National men's basketball team comes into tonight's match after falling short to Pikeville 88-81 on Saturday.
