LWC Football travels to Pikeville to continue MSC play By Grace Blomstedt The No. 8-ranked football team plays against Mid-South Conference opponent (RV) Pikeville (Ky.) on Saturday, October 26 in Pikeville, KY, at 5pmCT at the Hambley Athletic Complex. The Blue Raiders (7-0, 4-0 MSC) are back in action after defeating Thomas More (Ky.) 55-21 last weekend on the road. Lindsey Wilson's offense was able to create 483 total yards, including 406 in the air and 77 on the ground. The Blue Raider defense recorded three interceptions, including two pick-sixes - by James Todd and Cordarien Trice -- and 68 total tackles. It was Todd's third interception of the season. Cameron Dukes threw a career-high 406 yards while throwing for four touchdowns and rushing for one. His performance earned him his third Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division Offensive Player of the Week honor this season. Jaylen Boyd also earned honors as the MSC Bluegrass Division Special Teams Player of the Week after returning a kick-off 94 yards to score. Lindsey Wilson ranks fourth in the NAIA in total scoring offense with 334 points and fifth in total pass offense with 2113 yards. Dukes ranks third in pass efficiency (180.1) while also ranking fourth nationally, and first in the MSC, in total offense with 2084 yards. Jay Gaudlock leads the MSC in punt return yards with an average of 15.6 yards per attempt. Jaylen Boyd ranks sixth in the NAIA in All-Purpose Yards (1023). The Blue Raider defense holds opponents to an average of 15.1 points, which ranks 12th in the NAIA. Luke Bowman leads the defensive charge, averaging eight tackles and ranking seventh nationally in fumbles forced per game (.40). Pikeville (3-3, 2-1 MSC) returns home after a 35-15 win over Campbellsville (Ky.) last Saturday. The Bears accumulated 209 yards of total offense in the game, 81 of those rushing and 128 passing. On the season, Pikeville averages 182.8 rushing yards and 154.7 in the air. Derius Gibson leads the rushing charge with an average of 78.2 yards per game. Bowen Smith leads the Bears in passing yards with 620. This marks the seventh match-up between the programs. Lindsey Wilson is undefeated against Pikeville.
