Lindsey Wilson Wrestling releases 2019-20 schedule By Christopher Coombs Lindsey Wilson wrestling head coach Corey Ruff announced the schedule for the upcoming 2019-20 season on Tuesday. A total of 15 regular season events are on the slate for the year beginning with the Blue and White Dual being held at the Holloway Health & Wellness Center, 399 Williams St., Columbia, KY, on Saturday, October 26, 2019. The inner squad dual is scheduled for a 2pmCT start. The Blue Raiders open the regular season at the Patriot Open in Williamsburg, Ky., on Nov. 2 before returning to Columbia as LWC hosts the NAIA Challenge Duals at the Holloway Health and Wellness Center on Nov. 16. The challenge is scheduled for a 10amCT start. It is then back to the road as LWC travels to the Lindenwood Open on Nov. 23. Lindsey Wilson closes out November with their first dual of the season when they take on Bellarmine (Ky.) on the 26th at Biggers Sports Center. The Blue Raiders are then on the road for six straight events. On Dec. 7 LWC heads to the Indiana Little States Invite before taking part in three straight road duals. Lindsey Wilson faces Midway (Ky.) and Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) on December 15 in Cincinnati, Ohio before turning around and facing Marian (Ind.) three days later in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The dual against Midway will serve as the first Mid-South Conference match of the season. January is full of tough competition as the LWC grapplers will compete at the NAIA National Duals on Jan. 9-10 and then compete at the MVC Invite on Jan. 17-18. Lindsey Wilson finally returns home as they face MSC foe Campbellsville (Ky.) on Jan. 29 in the Battle of Highway 55. The Blue Raiders then square off with Thomas More (Ky.) on Feb. 4 as they close out the home portion of their schedule. Both duals will be at Biggers Sports Center with both having 7pmCT start times. The Blue Raiders close out the regular season with a trip to Williamsburg, Ky., as they take on Cumberlands (Ky.) in their final MSC dual of the season. The MSC Dual Championship is scheduled for Feb. 10. Postseason competition begins on Feb. 21-22 with the Mid-South Conference Championships in Bowling Green, Ky., and the 2020 NAIA National Championship is set for March 6-7 in Park City, Kansas. Last season the Blue Raiders tied a program-best finish at the NAIA National Championship, earning a runner-up finish behind only eighth time NAIA National Champion Grandview (Iowa). Brett Bradford and returning junior Brandon Reed claimed individual national championships in their respective weight classes last season.
