Blinkhorn wins second straight tournament By Christopher Coombs Silvis, IL - Lindsey Wilson men's golf climbed the leaderboard five spots during the second round of the NAIA Midwest Invitational being played at TPC Deere Run to finish in a tie for second place. Callum Blinkhorn captured first place for the second straight weekend as he was one of two competitors to finish below par in the final round at 2-under. Lindsey Wilson teammate Jeremiah Hayes was the only other golfer to finish the round under-par, doing so at 1-under. The No. 22-ranked Blue Raiders shot a team total of 597 (308-289) over the 6,530-yard, par-71 Deere Run layout. Lindsey Wilson tied No. 18 Grand View (Iowa) who shot a similar 597 (284-298) and fell to No. 13 Bellevue (Neb.) by 15 shots at the conclusion of the two-day event. Blinkhorn climbed the leaderboard all day as he moved from a tied for 10th in the 100-man field to a three-way tie for first at 142 (73-69). In the playoff, Blinkhorn pared the par-4, 391-yard first hole while Cameron Luczka of Indiana Wesleyan bogeyed and Alex Zillig of Bellevue (Neb.) doubled. The win is Blinkhorn's second of the season and the eight of his career. Hayes climbed 13 spots up the leaderboard from his position in 19th to sixth place as he fired a 145 (75-70). Callum Burns made the biggest leap of day two as he jumped 16 spots to finish in 19th place with a 151 (78-73). Janik Hawlitzky tied for 51st place with a 159 (82-77) and Etienne Rensburg is tied for 65th following a 164 (83-81).
