LWC Soccer faces Thomas More at home tonight

The No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team and the No. 9-ranked men's soccer team return home tonight to take on Thomas More (KY). The women's match is scheduled to begin at 5pmCT followed by the men's match at 7:00pmCT at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY.



The Blue Raiders women's soccer team (5-2-1, 1-0-0 MSC) returns home after a 1-0 victory over Mid-South Conference foe Georgetown (Ky.) on Wednesday night. Lindsey Wilson has seven players who have scored at least one goal this season, while five have recorded at least one assist. Sina Cavelti sits fifth best in the Mid-South Conference with a team-best six goals this season, while also being tied with Thea Birgerud for the team lead in assists with three. Goalkeeper Eveljn Frigotto has 46 saves on the season, which sits third best in the Mid-South Conference.

The Thomas More women's soccer team (4-5-0, 0-1-0 MSC) returns to action after being defeated by No. 22-ranked Cumberland (Tenn.) 2-1 on September 30th. The Saints have 12 players this season who have scored at least one goal, while five have also recorded at least one assist. Olivia Nienaber leads Thomas More with five goals this season, while Ryann Meddings has recorded seven assists, which ranks first in the Mid-South Conference. Goalkeeper Skylin Yates has 35 saves and 11 goals allowed this season, while goalkeeper Taylor Peterson has five saves and has no goal allowed so far.

The Lindsey Wilson Men's soccer team (5-2-0, 1-0-0 MSC) handed Georgetown their first loss of the season on Wednesday night by a final score of 7-2. The Blue Raiders have eight players who have scored at least one goal, while 10 have scored at least one assist. Akean Shackleford and Oscar Dueso each scored two goals apiece against the Tigers, and both lead Lindsey Wilson on the season with eight goals apiece. Wendel Gabriel has a team-best six assists this season which is tied for fourth best in the Mid-South Conference. Goalkeeper David Coffey has allowed five goals and has recorded 22 saves so far this season.

The Thomas More men's soccer team (4-4-0, 0-1-0 MSC) was defeated by Cumberland 3-2 in overtime on September 30th. The Saints are led on offense by Ethan Smith who leads the team with 16 shots on goal and has a team-high eight goals this season, along with Adam Mathews who has tallied a team-high three assists. On defense, goalkeeper George Tidswell has recorded 26 saves which sits fourth best in the Mid-South Conference.
