LWC Volleyball falls to Georgetown in straight sets 3-0

By Christopher Coombs

Georgetown, KY - The No. 10-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team was upset in straight sets to Mid-South Conference competitor Georgetown (Ky.) 3-0 on Tuesday night. The loss moves the Blue Raiders to 13-4 overall and 5-2 in the MSC.

The Blue Raiders struggled to find their rhythm all night as Georgetown out hit LWC .413 to .158 as the Tigers also produced 48 kills to Lindsey Wilson's 37. Errors also played a significant role in the result as Georgetown forced LWC into 21 mistakes while only committing 10 of their own.

Kasia Niderla produced a match-high 17 kills as she was the only Lindsey Wilson athlete in double-digits. Autumn Proctor managed a team-high 20 assists while Lauren Larzelere led the defensive efforts with 12 digs.

The Blue Raiders would manage to lead in the early stages of all three sets but Georgetown would take claim to all three sets as errors plagued their offensive efforts. The Tigers out hit LWC .406 to .194 in the first set, .464 to .152 in the second and .375 to .125 in the final stanza.

The Blue Raiders return to the court on Thursday when they welcome MSC newcomer Thomas More (Ky.) to Biggers Sports Center at 6 p.m. CT.
