The LWC Cycling MTB Showdown is this weekend

The Lindsey Wilson cycling team hosts its MTB Showdown this Saturday and Sunday. The whole Blue Raider cycling team is set to compete at this event.

Saturday's races will take place in Columbia at the Dr. Phil Aaron Cycling Complex, located in the 200 Block of Bomar Heights. Sunday's events will take place at the Pulaski County Park.

At least 350 riders are expected at the competition. The event is serving as the conference championships for the Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference and counts as a conference race for the Midwest Collegiate Cycling Conference.



Action begins on Saturday at 9amCT with short track team relays. Women short track groups B and C kick-off the individual races. Men C group follows, then men B, followed by women A, and then the men A group will close out the event. At 2pmCT qualifying rounds for women and men dual slalom will commence.

Sunday morning action begins with men and women cross country at 9amCT. The men's A group will begin the event, followed by men's B, then women's A, then men's, and women's B and C will race last. The day, and weekend, will conclude with the women and men's downhill race at 2pmCT.
